Surfing in Bundoran in Donegal

I surfed in Bundoran in the Donegal, on the west coast of Ireland. Bundoran is one of the most famous spots in Ireland and Europe for surfing, especially for the power of its waves and its many peaks around the village (many competitions throughout the year).

What I remember:
- youth hostel : Surf and Turf. The inn overlooks the sea and especially on the peaks of Bundoran (surfable only at high tide) and is located in the heart of the village. Well equipped with bathroom in the room, wi-fi, a computer with internet, breakfast included Deje (very classical either). THE TRUE PLUS is the homepage: the manager, Killian, offered us coffee upon arrival, we visited Bundoran with places to surf (the best pics around), the pub / restaurant not to miss and avoid, and even the home of his grandmother. Possibility to rent bicycles (there ready to lend us his superb racing bike!) For 10 €. I took surfing lessons for 30 € with Paddy, a very funny guy, who does not hesitate to advise fully on the course. The hostel provides the surfboard and ComBAR.

- Bundoran: the village is really ugly, it is primarily a seaside resort. For cons, the scenery is magnificent, contrasting colors, hill, with black clouds collinne behind and with a sunset, the scenery is a bit like "Lord of the Rings"! Surfshops two, the first in the middle of Main Street has combined secondhand, and the second at the end of the street is maintained by an excellent surfer (but good salesman so be careful!). I bought a ComBAR Xcel 5.4.3, a friend bought a secondhand shortboard Shaped Australia for 300 €. One of the sellers is a surfer Douarnenez (word to the wise ...) that can give you good advice and you can trust him (especially if you be BZH: p

- Getting there: bus around 4am with a Ballyshanon break (change 10min/15min and a bus you emmnène in Bundoran). Perhaps like us, you Ramna Killian with his van on the return Ballyshanon: p. He loves the French (he has family in Laval).
